Removing the shackles of entrepreur

There are four pillars in any economy. Land, Labour, Capital and Entrepreneur. Indian Society are demanding the security of land by way of fair price and rent, labour by way of fair wages and job continuity, capital by way of fair interest. But what is the security of entrepreneur. It is the entrepreneur, who pays rent, wages and interest. Students of economics will recall that entrepreneur is the most important factor of production. It is he, who uses other factors of production to make economy move.

We must therefore think of removing various obstacles to him. While drawing policies for starting a business, we must draw policies for easy exit. Easy exit laws for labour is a must in labour intensive industries like garment, construction etc.

Connecting rural hinterland with roads in west bengal can transform the economy of the state

West Bengal Govt. is attempting a comprehensive development of rural roads. Road connectivity is a must for communication and reaping the benefits of markets, schools, healthcare centres etc. in the neighborhood. Better Road connectivity will provide the children of attending primary, secondary, higher secondary or even colleges in the nearby villages or towns. It will also help the villagers to reach the highways to catch the buses or availing other modes of transport. It will also help villagers to reach markets to sell their produce or buy necessities. Above all, it will improve the tourism, as many urbanites want to take a break into countryside, but do not want to travel along potholed muddy roads. If roads are improved, there can be better cultural integration of urban and rural population. This will have a telling effect on the economy.

Abolition of APMC Act

APMC Act should be abolished. It is a monopoly of few traders with political backing. Farmers should be free to sell anywhere they deem fit including the mandis. They should not be forced to sell to select few. The abolition of APMC Act will increase the realisations of farmers and reduce the prices for consumers. It will increase the income of farmers, who will produce more, apart from reducing inflation in farm production.
